About Us

Gallium Sales is a small Western Australian business that imports high-purity gallium and specialty metals and supplies them to Australian customers. We are based in West Leederville, Perth, and everything we sell is dispatched from stock we physically hold here.

Why we exist

Buying gallium in Australia used to mean one of two things. You could order from an overseas seller and wait weeks, with no certainty about purity and no recourse if it never turned up. Or you could approach a scientific supply company, who would quote you properly but generally would not deal with an individual, a teacher buying out of a department budget, or anyone wanting less than a kilogram.

We import in bulk, hold stock locally, and sell in quantities that suit a curious individual as readily as a university laboratory. That is the whole idea.

How to tell we are real

Buying a few hundred dollars of metal from a business you have not heard of is a reasonable thing to hesitate over. So, plainly:

  • We are a registered Australian business. Gallium Sales is a registered business name of The Trustee for Davis Trading Trust 1, ABN 42 883 208 403, GST registered. The business name was registered in March 2024.
  • We have a real address, not a PO box: Suite 2, 158 Cambridge Street, West Leederville WA 6007.
  • We hold the stock. Nothing is drop-shipped. When the site says something is in stock, it is in a cupboard in Perth, and when it says sold out, it genuinely is — we would rather show you that than take your money and make you wait.
  • Our reviews are on the product pages, published by Judge.me rather than written by us, and we have not removed any.
  • A person answers the email. There is no support queue. If you write to us about purity, documentation or a delivery, the reply comes from the person who packed your order.

What you get with an order

  • 99.99% (4N) purity, with certificates of analysis available on request for institutional buyers
  • A Safety Data Sheet with every order, in Australian 16-section format and naming Gallium Sales as supplier — the document a school or university needs before a chemical can enter a prep room. We include it as standard rather than making you ask.
  • A syringe for handling the liquid metal
  • Tracking on every parcel

What we stock

99.99% pure gallium metal in 20g, 100g, 250g and 1kg; GaInSn (galinstan) eutectic liquid metal alloy; and high-purity element samples including indium, germanium and magnesium ribbon. Larger institutional quantities are available to universities and research bodies on request — contact us for a written quote.

Schools and universities

Institutional buyers are a large part of what we do. We invoice against our ABN, accept school and university purchase orders, and issue written quotes showing quote number, ex-GST line pricing, freight and a validity date — the document your procurement process actually asks for. See for schools and universities.

Where we ship

Australia only. Orders are dispatched from Perth within 1–3 business days by Australia Post, with tracking on every order. Shipping is $9.95 flat, and free on orders of $250 or more. We send up to 1kg of gallium per parcel, so a larger order arrives as more than one parcel, sometimes on different days — at no extra charge. Full details are in our shipping policy.

If something goes wrong

Contact us before returning anything and we will organise and pay for the return on any accepted return. If your order arrives damaged, photograph it as it arrived and email us within 48 hours. Nothing in our refund policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

One thing worth knowing in advance: gallium melts at 29.8°C, so in warm weather it will often arrive as a liquid. That is completely normal, nothing has been lost, and chilling the sealed container will resolidify it.
