GaInSn, the gallium-indium-tin eutectic often sold as galinstan, is liquid at room temperature. Where pure gallium needs the warmth of your hand to melt, GaInSn is already a flowing metal at 20°C and stays liquid down to around -19°C.

That difference matters for anyone who needs a metal that behaves like a fluid: thermal interface work and CPU cooling, non-toxic replacements for mercury in thermometers and manometers, soft robotics, stretchable and self-healing circuitry, and liquid-metal catalysis research. It is also a striking demonstration material, being a metal you can pour.

If we stock GaInSn again, it will be listed on this page. In the meantime, pure gallium does the same job for most demonstration and teaching purposes. It melts at 29.8°C rather than being liquid at room temperature, and it ships Australia-wide from Perth.
